This page is a deliberate trust signal. A lot of websites pretend to be more established than they are. SortedUK is new — launched May 2026 — and we'd rather tell you exactly what's working, what's experimental, and what's still to come than pretend everything's already perfect.

Foundations milestone — SortedUK Ltd filed at Companies House.

Update (27 June 2026): this early SortedUK Ltd filing was superseded. SortedUK now operates as a trading name of CA Capital Limited (company no. 10848369, registered in England & Wales). ICO data-protection registration is complete (reference C1968991). The record below is kept as a dated history of the original plan.

SortedUK Ltd filed at Companies House Milestone — the entity behind sorteduk.uk is incorporating. Filed 5 June 2026 via yourcompanyformations.co.uk (Order #5935479). Status: In Review — awaiting issuance of the Personal Verification Code (PVC) and Company Number under the new ECCTA 2024 director identity verification rules. Approval expected within 14–21 days. Director identity verification at gov.uk completed on the same day. Why it matters: every login-gated, backend-gated and ICO-gated feature in the post-foundations backlog (My Sorted cross-device sync, Household OS, Life Commander, Council Home Exchange Platform) unlocks the day Companies House issues the Company Number. This is the single biggest gating step on the SortedUK roadmap.
Business email LIVE Live — business@sorteduk.uk and corrections@sorteduk.uk are now operational via ImprovMX forwarding to a verified Gmail inbox. DNS configured in Netlify (MX records to ImprovMX + SPF) on 5 June 2026. SortedUK is now contactable at a branded sorteduk.uk address rather than the owner's personal email. Why it matters: the v304 corrections discipline and the v309 trust pledge both depend on a verified inbound channel. Without a working business@ + corrections@ address, the "we publish every mistake" promise was structurally unverifiable. Now it's real.
Trust pages updated with entity transition Live — /about, /privacy, /promise, /pro, /for-business, /sources, /platform and the sitewide footer trust stamp now disclose the SortedUK Ltd filing status, the formation agent reference (Order #5935479) and the ECCTA 2024 PVC waiting state. Honest about what's filed vs what's incorporated — no overclaim. The Company Number will be published the day Companies House issues it. Why it matters: every Trust Stamp, every "Publisher: SortedUK Ltd" attribution and every legal page now reflects the actual entity state — not a future-tense vision.
What's next (pending Company Number) Coming Soon — ICO Tier 1 Data Controller registration (£40/yr) the day the Company Number is issued. CLAUDE_API_KEY on Netlify (live AI letter decoder upgrade from rule-based fallback). Then the post-foundations Tier 1 build: login + My Sorted with real cross-device sync. Full sequence locked in POST-FOUNDATIONS-BACKLOG.md. Why it matters: this is the moment SortedUK transitions from "comprehensive free static platform" to "logged-in UK Life OS". The plan has been documented since v298 (CEO.1–CEO.31). Now it's about to be buildable.

Premium polish + Upload Anything Engine + sitewide consistency sweep.

Upload Anything Engine on /decode-v2 Live — the heart of SortedUK. New tiered upload — Scan with camera primary tile (native phone camera via capture="environment") + Upload file or photo secondary tile. Multi-file selection. HEIC support. Calibrated error messages per file type (video → photo redirect, Word → paste redirect, oversized → retake nudge). Five-step progress animation during decode (Reading → Understanding → Deadlines → Money → Next step). Why it matters: the upload is the single most important moment on SortedUK. It needs to feel like Apple-grade scanning, not a generic form field.
Trust Meta + Hidden Risk Detector on decode results Live — every decoded letter now shows transparency: Sender ✓ / Deadline ✓ / Letter type ✓ / Confidence pill. When the deadline is within 7 days or urgency is critical, a red Hidden Risk callout appears above the result — "Deadline today" / "Deadline tomorrow" / "Important deadline in N days" — explaining what's at stake.
Sorted Signature on every result page Live — "Your safest next step today" canonical pattern rolled out to /decode-v2 + /opportunity-engine + /can-i-claim + /can-i-ignore + /scam-check + /better-off. Uses the free GiveFood directory which covers Trussell Trust, the Independent Food Aid Network, and many independent food banks. Always-visible national helplines for anyone in immediate crisis. Why it matters: people in hunger need the nearest help in seconds, not a five-tab search across charity websites.
"Sort My Problem" smart router Live — new big search box at the top of the homepage. Type or paste anything — a letter, a scam text, a postcode, a problem — and Sorted routes you to the right tool automatically. Detects 6 crisis patterns (eviction tonight, bailiff at door, domestic abuse, suicidal thoughts, no food, child at risk) and surfaces the right UK helpline before any tool. 100% client-side, no AI key needed.
Built-by-one-person note Live — homepage acknowledges this is built and maintained by one person, explains the why behind it, and links to the changelog and corrections log. Addresses the “polished but faceless” critique without putting personal details on the public site.

Phase 1: Trust Trinity live.

Check This Firm Live — new tool at /check-firm.html that cross-checks any UK company against both Companies House and the FCA Register, producing a Green / Amber / Red verdict with every claim sourced. Why it matters: scammers often use real-looking company names that ARE registered, but lack FCA authorisation to handle money. Sorted catches the trap.
Postcode intelligence Live — /find-local.html now shows your council, constituency, MP, police force and NHS area when you enter a postcode. Uses postcodes.io and the UK Parliament Members API. No login, no profile.
Behind the scenes Security — rotated all live third-party API keys after a session-end audit, hardened environment-variable scoping in Netlify, and confirmed every key is locked to server-side functions only (never the browser).

Phase 2: Decode v2.

Smart letter decoding In development — a rebuild of /decode.html where you paste any UK letter and Sorted extracts the sender, the deadline, what it actually means in plain English, what happens if you do nothing, the safest next action, a confidence score, and a personalised draft reply. AI-assisted structured extraction. The current picker-based decoder stays available as a fallback.

Take a photo of any UK letter on your phone, and Sorted runs it through the Decode v2 engine automatically. OCR + the existing consequence engine.

Conversational benefits eligibility engine

Smart benefits checker — not a calculator, a conversation. Asks rent / children / work / disability / caring / savings / immigration / postcode, then returns "you may be entitled to…" with estimated monthly amount, confidence level, and evidence needed. Will use real 2026/27 GOV.UK rates and be properly audited before launch — wrong-money advice to vulnerable people is unacceptable.

Deadline tracker inside Passport

"3 days left", "Reply by Friday", "Evidence missing" — every saved case gets a priority count-down driven by the decoded deadline.
