Free, and it stays free. An account lets you save a check, come back to it later, and get told when a rate that affects you changes. It is not required to use anything on this site.

Everything in the "No" rows stays on the device you are using by default and is not transmitted unless you sign in and choose to sync it. Under UK GDPR, information about your health, disability or immigration status is special category data. The safest way to handle it is not to hold it, so we do not.

Why an account at all, if nothing is stored?
Two honest reasons. It lets us email you when a rate you care about changes — the Universal Credit health element split in April 2026 caught a lot of people out, and we would rather you heard it from us. And it lets us show that real people use this, which matters when we talk to councils about licensing the tools. That licensing is how the site is paid for, which is why you are not being charged.
Your rights
You can sign out, delete your account, or clear this device at any time using the buttons above. Deleting your account removes your email and password hash from our systems. Because we never held anything else, there is nothing else to delete.
If you want a copy of what we hold, it is your email address — but ask us anyway at the address on our contact page and we will confirm in writing within a month, as the law requires.
Will this ever cost money?
Core help stays free forever - safety routes, benefits checks, letter decoding, scam checks and official guidance. A planned optional Pro tier covers convenience only (unlimited AI answers, cross-device extras). Nothing marked planned is charged for today.The consumer tools on this site are free and that is a commitment, not an introductory offer. SortedUK is funded by councils, housing associations and advice charities who licence the same engine for their own services. We do not sell your details, we do not pass leads to claims-management firms, and there are no affiliate offers inside a benefits result.
